Ben's more eloquent than I ever hope to be, but I'd gladly sign my name to this entry of his.
He's absolutely right and I find it a damned shame that more Americans aren't able to take a moment to reflect upon their unbelievable good fortune. For that matter, there's a generation or two of Europeans that owe those brave men that picked up a rifle, strapped on grenades and charged forward against a determined foe in the Germans and Japanese. When the world is continuing to slip towards the edge...why is it now we cannot see that it might be time to face this new threat head on?
I'll gladly join Ben on the parapet with a broken bourbon bottle to hold off the foe! Who else is with us?
