What Do The Troops Think?

Stars & Stripes reports on a survey of deployed U.S. troops.

Overall, they gave their present missions around the globe a thumbs -up, but morale among the lower-ranking troops seems to be waning a bit.

Guess which part you'll see in the MSM?

I'm going to go with:

Survey proves US Military Morale lowest in 230 year history

But then again, I'm a little jaded.

Figures lie and liars figure.

No surprises here...based on something I learned long, long ago, it's when "the troops" STOP bitching is when you should begin to worry.

It's hard sometimes to understand what's going on around you as a lower enlisted soldier...but I have to have faith that the NCOs and junior officers leading them are at least as good if not better than my generation's leaders.

Interesting survey I suppose, but the proof of what these troops are doing halfway around the world on their first, second, and third tours to some of the most unhospitable places on the face of the planet tells me that they believe in the mission enough to keep raising their right hands and re-enlisting rather than running for the exit.

See you on the high ground...
