Watada Refuses Deployment Orders

It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that Lt. Watada, of "I think the war is illegal and I am not going to help fight it" fame, refused to depart Ft. Lewis for Iraq with his unit today. I can only hope that the U.S. Army will do the right thing and charge him with desertion, and confine him for a very long time. I might have the teeniest bit of compassion for a drafted private, but this guy volunteered to serve as an officer. Therefore, in my humble opinion, he is an opportunist and a coward, and he deserves everything that happens to him.
