WWII Sub Finally Found

The Navy says that a sub found at the bottom of the Gulf of Thailand is probably the USS Lagarto, which never returned from its mission in the waning days of WWII. The sub was sunk with the loss of all hands, some 86 sailors and officers. The Navy will make no attempt to retrieve the crew, considering the bottom of the sea to be a fitting final resting place for such brave men.

I don't know if you've ever been on a submarine, but I have and such duty is not for the faint of heart. We salute the courage of these brave men, and hope that this discovery lends some peace to their families.

I would never last on a submarine! It must take a special sort of person to do such a duty. God bless them for it!
